Purposeful Edna Valley is a partnership between Laurie Sances and Wendy Minarik, long time residents of San Luis Obispo County.  Laurie's 10 acre farm in Edna Valley produces wine grapes, table apples and an assortment of vegetables. She saw the potential to put their olive orchard into production for the scholarship fund.

The orchard comprises  Arbequinas, Pendolinos, Leccino, and Frantoio which produce olive oil. Our Tuscan blend has a clean, slightly grassy and mildly spicy flavor, while the Arbequina oil is a bit more buttery and neutral. Both are great as a dressing on entrees or salads.

In addition to Wendy's nutrition practice, she is a part-time Ag Educator with interests in Beekeeping, Organic Farming, and Culinary arts. She is providing expertise in communications, nutrition and recipe development to support the launch of the scholarship program.
